Financial Assistance

SHIP strives to make safe and sober living available to

anyone who desires to rebuild their life.

Financial Assistance:

 1. State of Idaho’s Substance Use Disorder funding for treatment and recovery support services, including Safe and Sober Housing.  This program is administered by Business Psychology Associates (BPA).  Call BPA toll-free at 1-800-922-3406 for program screening.

 2.  VA Grant Per Diem Program provides safe and sober housing and supportive services to assist 20 homeless veterans in getting back on their feet.  Referrals come from the Boise VA Medical Center.

 3.  Safe Harbor is a 10 bed facility serving homeless veterans with severe and persistent mental illnesses.  This program provides safe and sober housing and on-site supportive services.  The facility is staffed 24/7.  Referrals come from the Boise VA Medical Center.

 4.  SHIP also has funding for non-veterans experiencing homelessness for up to 90 days with a assessment every 30 days to determine that the individual is making progress in becoming self-sufficient.  Eligible individuals must have third party verification of their homeless situation.

 5.  SHIP has two programs serving persons who are experiencing chronic homelessness.  The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has adopted the Federal definition which defines a chronically homeless person as “either (1) an unaccompanied homeless individual with a disabling condition who has been continuously homeless for a year or more, OR (2) an unaccompanied individual with a disabling condition who has had at least four episodes of homelessness in the past three years.”   This program also requires third party verification of homelessness to qualify.

**Please note that homelessness does not include persons who are “doubling up” with family or friends.

 6.  SHIP also strives to keep the program affordable so that persons who do not qualify for financial assistance can access the supportive therapeutic environment of SHIP Housing.
