Donate Furniture, Appliances and Other Household Items

 

The Clean and Sober houses are usually in need of complete furnishings.  Items are often donated by concerned individuals.  If you have any items that you would like to donate, please email us at SHIP.  Some of the tax-deductible donations our houses need are:

  • Furniture (couches, dressers, tables, chairs,
    etc.)
  • Appliances (refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, etc.)
  • Electronic Equipment (computers, answering machines, telephones, radios, etc.)
  • Housewares (pots/pans, dishes, tableware, curtains, etc.)
  • Cleaning/yard Equipment (vacuums, lawn mowers, snow-blowers, rakes, etc.)
  • Reusable Building Materials for Second Chance Reuse Building Materials Center

Supportive Housing and Innovative Partnerships is a non-profit corporation organized under Sec. 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  We receive financial support from foundations, government agencies, and the general public.  Donations, small and large, enable us to create more sober housing for individuals in early recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.

In May of 2005, SHIP opened the Second Chance Building Materials Center in Boise’s Linen District to create jobs and fund the expansion of treatment options. The Center employs many of the current and/or former residents of SHIP housing. The store was one of five companies to win Boise’s 2006 annual EnviroGuard Pollution Prevention Award because of its mission to reuse and recycle. Examples of building materials we accept:

  • Dimensional Lumber, trim and sliding – minimum length 8 ft. (Cannot accept items with excessive peeling paint, pest infestation or dry rot).
  • Doors – Solid slab or pre-hung, in reusable condition, solid core commercial or security doors, and multiple panel doors – wood and composite.
  • Windows – Double pane vinyl and wood, single pane wood sash windows,
    picture windows up to 8 ft in length, wood frame divided light windows.
    (Cannot accept windows with crumbling glazing or excessive peeling paint or
    broken glass).
  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinets – must be free of damage beyond simple repair Particle board cabinets must be in very good, reusable condition.
