In May of 2005, SHIP opened the Second Chance Building Materials Center in Boise’s Linen District to create jobs and fund the expansion of treatment options. The Center employs many of the current and/or former residents of SHIP housing. The store was one of five companies to win Boise’s 2006 annual EnviroGuard Pollution Prevention Award because of its mission to reuse and recycle.

Downtown Boise’s newest development blends the fabric of existing historical buildings with an extension of the culturally vibrant North End neighborhood. Conveniently located at 15th Street and Grove, the Linen District currently has a mix of established retail stores and service oriented businesses. The future plans for the area will include a unique blend of commercial office space, local and regional retail stores as well as an urban residential area.
